The Heathside School curriculum

The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs. In recent years the school has enjoyed national tournament success in chess.

The Arts at Heathside School

Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Drama is part of the extra-curriculum. All pupils learn an instrument in class and two-thirds take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Three choirs, orchestra and several instrument ensembles. There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.

Wraparound care

School hours are from 8.30/9.00am to 3.30/4.00pm depending on year group. Before school care from 8.00am provided by staff and after school care to 6.00pm provided by external contractor onsite.
