School fundamentals

Hoe Bridge School is an independent prep day school for boys and girls (70%/30%) between the ages of 2 and 13 years. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is a standalone prep school, not tied to any one senior school, and a new senior division to age 16. It is merging with Greenfield School. The current Greenfield site will house an all-year nursery and Years 9 to 11. All prep pupils will transfer to The Hoe Bridge site, which will be home to a term-time nursery and Reception to Year 8. Hoe Bridge School fees range from £5,195 (Rec) to £7,615 per term (2025/26). Fees include VAT and lunches.

Hoe Bridge School has three classes per year and an average class size of 18 pupils.

Leavers' destinations

In any given year, leavers’ destination schools for Hoe Bridge School pupils will be one of 25 different independent day and boarding schools. The most popular, accounting for 40%-50% each year, are Royal Grammar School in Haslemere, St George’s Weybridge, and Reed’s School. Around 20% of pupils stay on to Year 8. From September 2022 the school will offer a choice to stay on to age 16 and GCSEs.

The Hoe Bridge School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes PSHCE, French, Latin, Greek. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

There are regular educational trips for all year groups, visiting speakers and residential trips from Year 3. Forest School in pre-prep, and outdoor learning and bushcraft sessions for all prep year groups.

Specialist teaching

Specialist teachers for sport, music and languages throughout, and for all subjects from Year 5.

Sport at Hoe Bridge School

School offers over 20 different sports through the year, through both the curriculum and an extensive extra-curriculum. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in football, hockey, netball, rounders, sailing, swimming.

The Arts at Hoe Bridge School

Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Drama is part of the co-curriculum. All pupils learn an instrument in class and two-thirds take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Three choirs, orchestra and several instrument ensembles. There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.

Wraparound care from 7.30am to 6.30pm. Minibus service.
