Bilton Grange School is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys and girls (60%/40%) between the ages of 3 and 13 years. Boarding from Year 5 for the 10% of pupils who board. 50% are full boarders and 50% are weekly or flexi boarders. It is a Church of England school, open to all faiths and none. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is a standalone prep school, and is a member of the Rugby School group. Bilton Grange School fees range from £4,180 (Rec) to £8,650 per term (2024/25). Full boarding fees are £11,770 per term. Fees exclude VAT but include lunches.

Bilton Grange School has two classes per year to Year 3, three from Year 4, and an average class size of 14 pupils.

Leavers' destinations

As part of the Rugby Group of Schools the most popular destination for Bilton Grange School leavers is Rugby School, accounting for 50% of pupils. The Bilton Grange School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum with some additions and variations. Topic based approach to Year 3 for science, history, geography and RE. And a similar cross-curricular format for the humanities in Year 4. The curriculum also includes PSHE, French, Latin. ‘BiG Saturday’ (morning) broadens the curriculum for Years 4 upwards with activities for the arts, music, design, the environment, and ‘life skills’. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

There are regular educational trips for all year groups, visiting speakers, a sleepover for Year 2, outdoor learning for pre-prep and residential trips from Year 3.

Specialist teachers for sport, music, art, DT, computing, and languages throughout, and for all subjects from Year 5.

Sport at Bilton Grange School

School is one of the 50 prep schools with the most extensive sports offers in the UK. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in hockey.

The Arts at Bilton Grange School

Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Drama is part of topic work and the co-curriculum. All pupils learn an instrument in class and 80% take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Three choirs, orchestra and several instrument ensembles. There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
