The Caterham Preparatory School curriculum
School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes PSHE, French. Subjects are taught thematically to Year 2, and separately thereafter. Humanities are taught in a ‘Global Citizenship’ programme. Computing taught as ‘Digital Innovation.’ It is an Apple Distinguished School to reflect the high degree of integration of digital learning in the curriculum. A ’21st Century Skills’ programme in Year 6 includes Mandarin. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

Sport at Caterham Preparatory School

The Arts at Caterham Preparatory School
Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Drama is part of the co-curriculum. All pupils learn an instrument in class and 80% take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Four choirs and up to 10 instrument ensembles. The school offers each pupil over 5 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
