Crosfields School is an independent prep day school for boys and girls (60%/40%) between the ages of 3 and 11 years. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is a standalone prep school, with a senior department to age 16. Crosfields School fees range from £5,295 (Rec) to £7,745 per term (2025/26). Fees include VAT and lunches.

Leavers' destinations

The opening of the senior department to age 16 offers Crosfields pupils the option to stay on to GCSE. Historically, leavers’ destination schools were invariably one of 20 local independent schools. 50%-60% of pupils left after Year 6, the rest after Year 8. The most popular destinations, accounting for 60% of Crosfields School pupils, were Reading Blue Coat School, Leighton Park School, The Abbey School in Reading, Shiplake College, Bradfield College, and Wellington College. 5-10% of pupils won awards and scholarships.

The Crosfields School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes PSHE, reasoning, French. The school offers each child a handful of extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

Specialist teachers for sport, music and languages throughout, and for most subjects from Year 5.

Sport at Crosfields School

School offers over 15 different sports through the year, through both the curriculum and extra-curriculum. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in judo, swimming.

The Arts at Crosfields School

Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Drama is part of the co-curriculum. All pupils learn an instrument in class and up to half take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Four choirs, orchestra and several instrument ensembles. There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
