School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum with some additions and variations. It employs a thematic curriculum, or ‘topic’ for geography, history, RE, and any other relevant subject for all year groups. Curriculum also includes PSME, reasoning, French, Spanish, German. The school’s values and culture emphasise democracy, collaboration, problem solving, and ‘learning by doing’. Pupils and teachers are on first name terms and there is no school uniform. The school offers each child a handful of extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

Art, music, dance, and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and about one third take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Choir, orchestra and several instrument ensembles. There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
