The Giggleswick Junior School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and also includes PSHE, reasoning, philosophy, French, Spanish, German. Cross-curricular topics in pre-prep and a topic-led humanities programme for Years 3 to 6. Thursday afternoon enrichment carousel for Years 3 to 6 includes Eco, Performing Arts, other sports, and outdoor pursuits. It is a Microsost Showcase School to reflect the high degree of integration of digital learning in the curriculum. The school offers each child a handful of extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

There are regular educational trips for all year groups and visiting speakers. Outdoor Pursuits timetabled for all years, and adventure residential trips in Years 5 and 6.

Sport at Giggleswick Junior School

School offers over 15 different sports through the year, through both the curriculum and extra-curriculum.

The Arts at Giggleswick Junior School

Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn a stringed instrument in class in Years 1, 2 and 3, and half take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Two choirs, orchestra, and several instrument ensembles. Annual Performing Arts Festival. The school offers each pupil over 5 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.

Wraparound care

Wraparound care from 7.30am to 6.00pm. Nursery open for 50 weeks of the year.
