Godstowe School is an independent prep day and boarding school for girls between the ages of 3 and 13 years. It has a co-ed nursery and pre-prep. Boarding from Year 3 for the 20% of girls who board. 60% are full boarders and 40% are weekly or flexi boarders. It is a Church of England school, open to all faiths and none. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is a standalone prep school, not tied to any one senior school. Godstowe School fees range from £5,580 (Rec) to £8,700 per term (2025/26). Full boarding fees are £13,380 per term. Fees include VAT and lunches.

Godstowe School has two classes per year to Year 2, three from Year 3, and an average class size of 17 pupils.

Destinations for Godstowe School girls is one of 50 independent schools, with Wycombe Abbey being the most popular. 10% of girls move on to a day school at age 11, 90% choose a day or boarding school at age 13. 10%-15% of pupils win awards and scholarships.

The Godstowe School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes PSHE, cross-curricular days, French, Spanish, Latin. ‘Workshop Week’ is a week in summer term for exploring the arts (especially drama), and sports. The Godstowe Dove Diploma encourages Years 6 to 8 to participate in the extra-curricular. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

Specialist teachers for music, art, DT, languages, computing, drama and sport throughout, and for most subjects from Year 5.

Sport at Godstowe School

School offers over 15 different sports through the year, through both the curriculum and extra-curriculum. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in athletics, swimming.

The Arts at Godstowe School

Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Drama is part of the co-curriculum. All pupils learn an instrument in class and nearly all take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. 3 choirs (compulsory for years 3-6) and several instrument ensembles. Each pupil may participate in up to 10 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
