St Edmund’s Junior School & Pre-Prep is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys and girls (50%/50%) between the ages of 2 and 13 years. It is also a Choir School. Boarding from Year 6 for the 10% of pupils who board. 95% are full boarders and 5% are weekly or flexi boarders. It is a Church of England school, open to all faiths and none. The school has an academically selective admissions policy. It is the junior division of St Edmund’s School, an all-through school to age 18. St Edmund’s Junior School & Pre-Prep fees range from £3,911 (Rec) to £6,495 per term (2024/25). Full boarding fees are £11,868 per term. Fees exclude VAT but include lunches.

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes PSHEE, French, Latin. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

Sport at St Edmund's Junior School & Pre-Prep

School offers over 20 different sports through the year, through both the curriculum and an extensive extra-curriculum. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3.

The Arts at St Edmund's Junior School & Pre-Prep

School educates the choristers of Canterbury Cathedral. Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Drama is part of the co-curriculum. All pupils learn an instrument in class and two-thirds take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. 2 choirs (excluding the choristers), two orchestras and several instrument ensembles. The school is one of the top 50 UK prep schools for the breadth of its creative and performing arts extra-curriculum.
