The St Leonards Junior School curriculum

School follows the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the first year of the Middle Years Programme. Half-termly combined ‘units of inquiry’ draw the academic strands together. Curriculum also includes PSHE, French, Spanish, Latin. The school offers each child a handful of extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

The Arts at St Leonards Junior School

Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and up to half take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Primary 3. Three choirs, an orchestra and several instrument ensembles. There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
