Stonar Prep School is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys and girls (40%/60%) between the ages of 2 and 11 years. Boarding from Year 5 for the 10% of pupils who board. 95% are full boarders and 5% are weekly or flexi boarders. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is the prep school to Stonar School, an all-through school to age 18, and is a member of the Globeducate Group. Stonar Prep School fees range from £3,630 (Rec) to £4,895 per term (2024/25). Full boarding fees are £10,340 per term. Fees exclude VAT but include lunches.

The Stonar Prep School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and also includes PSHE, Spanish. History, geography, science and DT are taught thematically through the International Primary Curriculum. The school offers each child a handful of extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

There are regular educational trips for all year groups and visiting speakers. Overseas residential trips from Year 5. All pupils, through to Year 6, have curricular Forest School sessions.

Specialist teachers for sport, music, drama and languages throughout, and for computing from Year 3.

Sport at Stonar Prep School

School offers between 10 and 15 different sports over the course of the year. Representative teams in major sports from Year 3. The school is well known for equestrian sports. Its facilities include a BHS accredited Equestrian Centre.

The Arts at Stonar Prep School

Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and two-thirds take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Two choirs and some instrument ensembles. The school offers each pupil over 5 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
