The Arts at The Portsmouth Grammar Junior School
School educates the choristers of St Thomas’ Cathedral, Portsmouth. Art is a discrete curricular subject, as is music to Year 2. Two periods of performing arts (music, dance, and drama) per week for all pupils from Year 3. All pupils learn an instrument in class and two-thirds take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. 3 choirs (in addition to the Cathedral choristers), orchestra and several instrument ensembles including the touring Brass Band.
