Wetherby Preparatory School is an independent prep day school for boys between the ages of 7 and 13 years. The school has an academically selective admissions policy. It is the prep school to Wetherby Senior School, an all-through school to age 18, and is a member of the Inspired Education group. Wetherby Preparatory School fees are £9,505 per term (2024/25). Fees exclude VAT but include lunches.

The Wetherby Preparatory School curriculum

School curriculum follows the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum. It also includes PSHE, French, Latin. Friday afternoons are for ‘Activities’ encouraging participation in the extra-curriculum. Each pupil may participate in over 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs. In recent years the school has enjoyed national tournament success in science.

Sport at Wetherby Preparatory School

Sport accounts for 20% of curricular time. School offers over 15 different sports through the year, through both the curriculum and extra-curriculum. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in cross country, fencing, football, golf, skiing, swimming.

The Arts at Wetherby Preparatory School

Art, music, and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and half take extra-curricular instrument lessons. Three choirs, orchestra and one or two instrument ensembles. The school offers each pupil over 5 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.

Wraparound care

There is no formal wraparound care. The school day is from 8.45am to 4.00pm, though clubs, including Homework Club, can extend the day to 5.00pm.
