Outdoor activities are a major feature of the school’s curriculum including; Forest School to P2, ‘Barvicks’ (day expeditions for the whole school from P3 to S1 for 4 or 8 Saturdays per year), the Ard Challenge for P7/S1 pupils and their parents and the Leadership Challenge residential for S1 pupils.

Sport at Ardvreck School
Five Games sessions per week. School is one of the 50 prep schools with the most extensive sports offers in the UK. Representative teams in major sports from Primary 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in shooting.
The Arts at Ardvreck School
Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Drama is part of the co-curriculum. All pupils learn an instrument in class and three-quarters take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Primary 3. Two choirs, orchestra and some instrument ensembles, including the largest prep school pipe band in Scotland. Each pupil may participate in up to 10 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
