Ashfold School is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys and girls (50%/50%) between the ages of 3 and 13 years. Boarding from Year 5 for the 20% of pupils who board. All are weekly or flexi boarders. It is a Christian school, open to all faiths and none. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is a standalone prep school, not tied to any one senior school. Day fees at Ashfold School range from £4,230 (Rec) to £7,090 per term (2023/24).

The Ashfold School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes PSHE, French, Latin. Independent Project Qualification in Years 6 & 7. ‘Stretch and Challenge Programme’ includes ‘Academic Enrichment’ sessions from Year 6, ‘Scholars Club’ from Year 7, and weekly ‘Masterclasses’ from Year 6 for the arts, sport, and digital. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

There are regular educational trips for all year groups, visiting speakers and residential trips from Year 5.

Specialist teaching

Specialist teachers for music, art and computing throughout, for sport from Year 2, for languages from Year 3, for most subjects by Year 5, and for all subjects from Year 6.

Sport at Ashfold School

School offers over 15 different sports through the year, through both the curriculum and extra-curriculum. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in shooting.

The Arts at Ashfold School

Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and two-thirds take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. All pre-prep pupils learn the violin and recorder as part of the curriculum. Three choirs, a joint choir of pupils, teachers and parents, orchestra and over 10 instrument ensembles. The school is one of the top 50 UK prep schools for the breadth of its creative and performing arts extra-curriculum.

Wraparound care from 7.30am to 6.00pm. Facility for occasional boarding.
