Aysgarth School is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys and girls (90%/10%) between the ages of 3 and 13 years. The school became co-ed for all years from Sep 2024. Boarding from Year 4 for the 60% of boys who board. 60% are full boarders and 40% are weekly or flexi boarders. It is a Church of England school, open to all faiths and none. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is a standalone prep school, and is a member of the Rugby School group. Aysgarth School fees range from £3,645 (Rec) to £8,955 per term (2024/25). Full boarding fees are £11,650 per term. Fees exclude VAT but include lunches.

The Aysgarth School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum and also includes PSHCE, reasoning, French, Latin. Each pupil may participate in over 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

There are regular educational trips for all year groups, visiting speakers, Forest School up to Year 3 and residential trips from Year 7.

Sport at Aysgarth School

School is one of the 50 prep schools with the most extensive sports offers in the UK. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in rugby 7s.

The Arts at Aysgarth School

Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and three-quarters take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Three choirs and several instrument ensembles. The school offers each pupil over 5 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
