The Falkner House curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes history of art, PSHEE, reasoning, classical studies, Spanish, Mandarin, Latin. The school offers each child a handful of extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

Specialist teaching

Specialist teachers for sport, music, computing, history of art, and languages throughout, and for maths, science, art, and English from Year 4.

Sport at Falkner House

School offers between 10 and 15 different sports over the course of the year. Representative teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in netball.

The Arts at Falkner House

Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. As is dance to Year 4. Drama is part of the co-curriculum. All pupils learn an instrument in class and two-thirds take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Two choirs, four string orchestras, two wind bands and several other instrument ensembles. The school offers each pupil over 5 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
