School fundamentals

Hall Grove School is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys and girls (70%/30%) between the ages of 3 and 13 years. Boarding from Year 4 for the very small number of pupils who board. 20% are full boarders and 80% are weekly or flexi boarders. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is a standalone prep school, not tied to any one senior school. Hall Grove School fees range from £5,600 (Rec) to £7,500 per term (2025/26). Full boarding fees range from £9,890 to £10,480 per term. Fees include VAT and lunches.

Leavers' destinations

The Hall Grove School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes Extended Project, PSHE, French, Latin, Greek. There may be an occasional extra-curricular academic or hobby club.

Sport at Hall Grove School

School offers over 15 different sports through the year, through both the curriculum and extra-curriculum. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in cross country, football, golf, judo, netball, sailing.

The Arts at Hall Grove School

Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Dance in pre-prep and on rotation with drama and music in Years 7 and 8. All pupils learn an instrument in class and half take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Three choirs, orchestra and several instrument ensembles. There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.

Wraparound care

Wraparound care from 7.30am to 7.15pm. Facility for occasional boarding.
