School curriculum follows the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence and also includes PSHE, French, Spanish. As well as developing skills through cross-curricular social studies and science/STEM projects the school is developing age-appropriate innovation projects from its NuVu pedagogy and facilities, currently aimed at Senior School pupils. All pupils, from J1 upwards, have a dedicated iPad to facilitate learning. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

There are regular educational trips for all year groups and visiting speakers. Outdoor learning for all year groups including adventure residentials from J4. The Minerva Challenge is a Duke of Edinburgh type scheme encouraging pupils in J4, J5, and J6 to engage in sport, a new skill, outdoor adventure challenges, and community.

Specialist teachers for sport and music throughout, for languages from J1, for art and drama from J5, and for science, DT, and computing in J7.

Sport at Kelvinside Academy, Junior School

School offers between 10 and 15 different sports over the course of the year. Competitive teams in major sports from J3.

The Arts at Kelvinside Academy, Junior School

Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and up to half take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Junior 3. Two choirs, an orchestra and some instrument ensembles. There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
