School curriculum follows the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence and also includes PSHE, French, Spanish. As well as developing skills through cross-curricular social studies and science/STEM projects the school is developing age-appropriate innovation projects from its NuVu pedagogy and facilities, currently aimed at Senior School pupils. All pupils, from P1 upwards, have a dedicated iPad to facilitate learning. There are up to 10 extra-curricular academic clubs per year group per term.
Specialist teachers for sport and music throughout, for languages from P3, for art and drama from P5, and for science, DT, and computing in P7.
There are regular educational trips for all year groups, and visiting speakers. Outdoor learning for all year groups including adventure residentials for P5, P6, and P7. The Minerva Challenge is a Duke of Edinburgh type scheme encouraging pupils in P4, P5, and P6 to engage in sport, a new skill, outdoor adventure challenges, and community.
School offers over 10 different sports. Competitive teams in major sports from Primary 3.
Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and around half take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Two choirs, an orchestra and some instrument ensembles. There are also some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
Wraparound care from 8.00am to 6.00pm.
