Kitebrook Preparatory School is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys and girls (40%/60%) between the ages of 3 and 13 years. Boarding from Year 2 for the 10% of pupils who board. All are weekly or flexi boarders. It is a Christian school, open to all faiths and none. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is a standalone prep school, not tied to any one senior school, and is a member of the Prep Schools Trust (Radley Schools Group). Kitebrook Preparatory School fees range from £4,350 (Rec) to £6,250 per term (2024/25). Fees exclude VAT but include lunches.

The Kitebrook Preparatory School curriculum

School teaches a subject-based curriculum, but has adopted the more skills-based Pre-Senior Baccalaureate in Years 7 and 8. Curriculum also includes study skills, PSHEE, French, Latin. The school offers each child a handful of extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

There are regular educational trips for all year groups, visiting speakers and residential trips from Year 7. A full-immersion term at the Château de Sauveterre in Toulouse for Year 7 is a highlight. Outdoor learning for all year groups including Forest School in Lower School, and environmental lessons, outdoor lessons, and ‘Growth Mindset’ challenge for Upper School.

Specialist teachers for sport, music, languages, art, DT and computing throughout, and for most subjects from Year 5.

Sport at Kitebrook Preparatory School

School offers between 10 and 15 different sports over the course of the year. Representative teams in major sports from Year 3.

The Arts at Kitebrook Preparatory School

Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and about one third take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Two choirs and three instrument ensembles. Annual English Speaking Board exams. There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.

Wraparound care

Wraparound care from 8.00am to 7.00pm. Facility for occasional boarding.
