Summer Fields School is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys between the ages of 4 and 13 years. Boarding from Year 4 for the 50% of pupils who board. All are full boarders. It is a Church of England school, open to all faiths and none. The school has an academically selective admissions policy. It is a standalone prep school, not tied to any one senior school. Summer Fields School fees range from £5,250 (Rec) to £9,260 per term (2024/25). Full boarding fees are £13,290 per term. Fees exclude VAT and lunches.

The Summer Fields School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum with some additions and variations. In pre-prep (R-3) most subjects are taught through a ‘creative curriculum’ linking subjects to a termly theme. The curriculum also includes PSHEE, French, Latin, Greek. Each pupil may participate in over 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

Sport at Summer Fields School

School offers over 20 different sports through the year, through both the curriculum and an extensive extra-curriculum. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in athletics, cross country, football, judo, rugby 7s, squash.

The Arts at Summer Fields School

Art, music and drama (to Year 4) are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and 80% take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. 3 choirs (Chapel Choir, Treble Choir, and Junior Choir), orchestra and several instrument ensembles. Each pupil may participate in up to 10 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
