School fundamentals

Marlborough House School is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys and girls (50%/50%) between the ages of 2 and 13 years. Boarding from Year 4 for the 10% of pupils who board. All are weekly or flexi boarders. It is a Christian school, open to all faiths and none. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is a standalone prep school, not tied to any one senior school. It will become a member of the Repton Family of Schools and merge with Vinehall School by September 2025. Marlborough House School fees range from £3,795 (Rec) to £7,495 per term (2024/25). Fees exclude VAT but include lunches.

The Marlborough House School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes PSHE, French, Spanish, Latin. The new ‘Pre-Senior Baccalaureate’ introduces the ‘21st Century Skills’ of critical thinking, broader thinking, and problem solving into the Years 7 and 8 curriculum. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

There are regular educational trips for all year groups, visiting speakers, Forest School to Year 4 and residential trips from Year 6.

Specialist teaching

Specialist teachers for sport, music, languages, DT and computing throughout, and for maths, English and science from Year 5.

Sport at Marlborough House School

School offers over 20 different sports through the year, through both the curriculum and an extensive extra-curriculum. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in golf, hockey, swimming.

The Arts at Marlborough House School

Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and two-thirds take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Three choirs, orchestra and several instrument ensembles. Each pupil may participate in up to 10 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.

Wraparound care

Wraparound care from 8.00am to 7.00pm. Facility for occasional boarding.
