At the end of Primary 6, Junior School pupils move up to Primary 7, or 'Geits', based in the senior school. From there most stay on at The Edinburgh Academy.
School curriculum is based on the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence, and it makes use of cross-curricular linking, particularly for social studies. The curriculum also includes PSHE, French, Mandarin. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.
Specialist teachers for sport, music, languages, and science throughout, and for art from Primary 3.

All pupils learn an instrument in class and over half take extra-curricular instrument lessons from P3. Two choirs, a string orchestra and four or five instrument ensembles. The choir has a strong track record in national choral competitions. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
