The Heritage Infant & Junior School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum, emphasises Christian social morality, and also includes PSHE, French, Latin. Other differentiating aspects of the curriculum include an emphasis on knowledge acquisition (‘knowledge-rich curriculum’), historical timelines, reading whole books, learning through narration and dictation, and delaying computing to Year 5. There may be an occasional extra-curricular academic or hobby club.

Sport at The Heritage Infant & Junior School

School offers PE and a small range of sports. The emphasis is on fitness, exercise and health.

The Arts at The Heritage Infant & Junior School

Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Drama is part of the co-curriculum. All pupils learn an instrument in class and some take extra-curricular instrument lessons. Choir and a couple of instrument ensembles.

Wraparound care

No wraparound care as such but, with clubs, the school day can run from 8.25am to 5.00pm.
