Knightsbridge School is an independent prep day school for boys and girls (50%/50%) between the ages of 4 and 13 years. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is the junior division of Knightsbridge School, an all-through school to age 16, and is a member of the Dukes Education group. Knightsbridge School fees range from £8,555 (Rec) to £9,170 per term (2024/25). Fees exclude VAT and lunches.

Knightsbridge School starts with four classes per year dropping to two from Year 5, and an average class size of 14 pupils.

Leavers' destinations

Leavers’ destination schools for Knightsbridge School pupils are a wide variety of 25 independent day and boarding schools, with no particular senior school taking more than one or two leavers. Given the international backgrounds of the pupils, there is a high turnover, with 3 years being an average tenure. Two-thirds of pupils leave at 11+ (most girls, half the boys). One third (mostly boys) stay on till 13. A new senior department (to age 16) opened in September 2020.

The Knightsbridge School curriculum

School curriculum follows the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum. It also includes ‘Perspectives’ (philosophy and RE) from Year 4, ‘Enquiry’ (cross-curricular science and humanities) to Year 3, PSHEE/Life Skills, French, Spanish, Italian, Mandarin, Latin. Each pupil may participate in over 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

There are regular educational trips for all year groups, visiting speakers and residential trips from Year 3.

Specialist teaching

Specialist teachers for sport, music, languages and art throughout, for maths and computing from Year 4, and for all subjects from Year 5.

Sport at Knightsbridge School

School offers between 10 and 15 different sports over the course of the year. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3.

The Arts at Knightsbridge School

Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Drama is part of the co-curriculum. All pupils learn an instrument in class and 80% take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Two choirs, orchestra and several instrument ensembles. The school offers each pupil over 5 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.

Wraparound care

There is no formal wraparound care. The school day is from 8.00am up to 4.30pm, though clubs can extend the day to 5.30pm. There is a small nursery (3+) for siblings.
