The Sussex House School curriculum

There is an ‘Activity’ period on three days of the week to broaden the curriculum. Each pupil may participate in over 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

Sport at Sussex House School

School offers between 10 and 15 different sports over the course of the year. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. Fencing is a particular strength with recognition for individuals at a national level.

The Arts at Sussex House School

Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Drama is part of the extra-curricular programme. All pupils learn an instrument in class and 70%two-thirds take extra-curricular instrument lessons. Two choirs, orchestra and five instrument ensembles. The school offers each pupil over 5 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.

Wraparound care

There is no formal wraparound care. The school day is from 8.45am to 4.00pm, though clubs can extend the day from 8.00am to 5.30pm.
