School fundamentals

Seaford College Prep is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys and girls (60%/40%) between the ages of 5 and 13 years. Boarding from Year 6 for the 10% of pupils who board. 25% are full boarders and 75% are weekly or flexi boarders. It is a Church of England school, open to all faiths and none. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is the junior division of Seaford College, an all-through school to age 18. Seaford College Prep fees range from £3,600 (Rec) to £8,871 per term (2025/26). Fees include VAT and lunches.

Average class size

Seaford College Prep has two classes per year and an average class size of 17 pupils.

Leavers' destinations

At the end of Year 8 most Prep School pupils move up to Seaford College. There is no common entrance requirement for Prep pupils.

The Seaford College Prep curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes PSVE, French, Spanish. School has significant expertise in teaching children with SEN. The school offers each child a handful of extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

There are regular educational trips for all year groups, visiting speakers and residential trips from Year 6. Forest School and outdoor learning for all age groups.

Specialist teaching

Specialist teachers for music, languages, DT and sport throughout, and for all subjects from Year 6.

Sport at Seaford College Prep

School is one of the 50 prep schools with the most extensive sports offers in the UK. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in equestrian events, swimming.

The Arts at Seaford College Prep

Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and nearly all take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Choir and several instrument ensembles. Regular ‘Creative Curriculum Weeks’ (art, music, DT, computing, PE). There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.

Wraparound care

Wraparound care from 8.00am to 6.00pm. Facility for occasional boarding.
