Great Ballard Prep & Pre-Prep is an independent prep day school for boys and girls (50%/50%) between the ages of 2.5 and 11 years. It is a Church of England school, open to all faiths and none. The Great Ballard Prep & Pre-Prep curriculum

Thematic cross-curricular approach to teaching up to Year 2. ‘4H approach’ to curriculum from Year 3 has achievement milestones for Head, Hand, Heart, Health. The school offers each child a handful of extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils, as is drama from Year 3. All pupils learn an instrument in class and half take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Three choirs and several instrument ensembles. The school offers each pupil over 5 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
