School fundamentals

The Prebendal School is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys and girls (70%/30%) between the ages of 3 and 13 years. It is also a Choir School. Boarding from Year 3 for the 20% of pupils who board. 10% are full boarders and 90% are weekly or flexi boarders. It is a Church of England school, open to all faiths and none. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is a standalone prep school, not tied to any one senior school, and is a member of the Alpha Schools group. The Prebendal School fees range from £3,225 (Rec) to £5,995 per term (2024/25). Full boarding fees are £8,695 per term. Fees exclude VAT but include lunches.

The Prebendal School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes PSHE, French, Spanish, Latin. Though the curriculum is subject based, thinking skills, debate and initiative are encouraged through the Pre Senior Baccalaureate, Prebendal Extended Project, and The Quadrivium (Years 6 to 8). The school offers each child a handful of extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

Specialist teachers for sport, music and languages throughout, and for all subjects from Year 5.

Sport at The Prebendal School

School offers between 10 and 15 different sports over the course of the year. Representative teams in major sports from Year 3.

The Arts at The Prebendal School

School educates the choristers of Chichester Cathedral. Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and almost all take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Three choirs, two orchestras, 2 concert bands and 22 instrument ensembles. The school offers each pupil over 5 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.

Wraparound care from 7.00am to 7.00pm. Facility for occasional boarding.
