School fundamentals

Lambrook School is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys and girls (60%/40%) between the ages of 3 and 13 years. Boarding from Year 3 for the 10% of pupils who board. All are weekly or flexi boarders. It is a Church of England school, open to all faiths and none. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is a standalone prep school, not tied to any one senior school. Lambrook School fees range from £5,434 (Rec) to £8,650 per term (2024/25). Fees exclude VAT but include lunches.

Average class size

Lambrook School has three classes per year to Year 2, four from Year 3, and an average class size of 19 pupils.

Leavers' destinations

Destinations for Lambrook School leavers are one of 20 boarding (and some day) schools with 50% going to Wellington, Bradfield and Eton. 50% of pupils win awards and scholarships.

The Lambrook School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes PSHE, reasoning, French, Latin, Greek. ‘Monday Afternoon Enrichment’ expands the curriculum with a half-termly pursuit such as ballet, bee-keeping, debating, fencing and survival. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

There are regular educational trips for all year groups, visiting speakers and residential trips from Year 6. The CARPE Award encourages participation in the co-curricular, requiring contribution to the Community, the Arts, in Recreation, as Pioneers and Leaders, and to the Environment.

Specialist teachers for music, languages and sport throughout, and for all subjects from Year 5.

Sport at Lambrook School

School is one of the 50 prep schools with the most extensive sports offers in the UK. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in athletics, football, skiing, trampolining.

The Arts at Lambrook School

Art, drama, and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and two-thirds take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Three choirs, orchestra and 7 instrument ensembles. There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.

Wraparound care

Wraparound care from 7.30am to 6.00pm. Facility for occasional boarding.
