Sherfield School, Prep School is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys and girls (60%/40%) between the ages of 3 months and 13 years. Boarding from Year 4 for the very small number of pupils who board. 40% are full boarders and 60% are weekly or flexi boarders. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is the prep school to Sherfield School, an all-through school to age 18, and is a member of the Education in Motion group. Sherfield School, Prep School fees range from £4,860 (Rec) to £7,260 per term (2025/26). Full boarding fees range from £10,485 to £11,885 per term. Fees include VAT and lunches.

The Sherfield School, Prep School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes PSHE, reasoning, French, Spanish. The skills-based AVP Diploma is timetabled for every Friday afternoon. Year 3 and above work together to gain a recognised accreditation, volunteer, or learn a new skill. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

Specialist teachers for music, languages and sport throughout, and for all subjects from Year 7.

Sport at Sherfield School, Prep School

School offers over 15 different sports through the year, through both the curriculum and extra-curriculum. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3.

The Arts at Sherfield School, Prep School

Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and about one third take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Choir and some instrument ensembles. There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
