Boarding from Year 3 for the 40% of pupils who board. 50% are full boarders and 50% are weekly or flexi boarders. It is a Church of England school, open to all faiths and none. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is a standalone prep school, not tied to any one senior school. Windlesham House School fees range from £4,651 (Rec) to £10,792 per term (2025/26). Full boarding fees range from £13,905 to £14,309 per term. Fees include VAT but exclude lunches.

The Windlesham House School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes PSHE, study skills, French, Spanish, Latin. The Saturday morning ‘Windlesham Challenge’ for Years 3 to 6 for skills development in academic and creative subjects. The ‘Windlesham Diploma’ for Years 7 and 8, is a skills-based complement to the ISEB core subject curriculum. The school is an Apple Distinguished School, recognised for its integration of technology into the curriculum to leverage learning. The school offers each child a handful of extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs. In recent years the school has enjoyed national tournament success in chess.

More on the curriculum

There are regular educational trips for all year groups, visiting speakers, Forest School to Year 4 and bushcraft sessions and ‘survival nights’ for Years 5 to 8. Residential trips from Year 6.

Specialist teaching

Specialist teachers for sport, music, drama, art, and DT throughout, for computing from Year 2, and for most subjects from Year 5.

Sport at Windlesham House School

School offers over 15 different sports through the year, through both the curriculum and extra-curriculum. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in athletics, golf, netball, rounders.

The Arts at Windlesham House School

Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and 80% take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Three choirs, orchestra and one or two instrument ensembles. There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.

Wraparound care

Wraparound care from 7.15am to 6.30pm. Facility for occasional boarding.
